Legal Mumbo-Jumbo
This is my CYA page. I’ll try to keep it short and sweet.
I am not a professional. I am not even a particularly gifted amateur. I offer no guarantee that my experiences with anything reviewed on this site will be the same experiences you have. Follow my advice at your own risk. I am not liable for any mishaps, injury, or damages that may result.
You can find the privacy policy for TCGA and all Studio B.A.N. websites (required by Google to run their ads) here.
Speaking of advertisements, I only have broad control over them. I can block categories, and I think there’s a way to block specific ads, but I can’t actually choose them. If a company whose product I’ve reviewed also has ads appearing here, it’s probably because I used the keywords they were targeting. The presence or lack thereof of advertisements has no effect on the contents of my reviews. Those ads would have to be bringing in a lot more money for that. (I kid, I kid. My integrity is not for sale. Possibly for barter, though. Give me good cheesecake and I’ll say anything you want. (As long as what you want me to say is my honest opinion of the product in question. (See, I love my readers even more than I love cheesecake. (Not more than I love parentheses, though. (I really, really love parentheses.)))))
Per the new FTC regulations on product endorsements, I have to disclose if I’ve been somehow compensated to review a product. (This includes products sent to me for free.) I won’t ever do a paid endorsement on this site. Period. I haven’t yet reviewed a product that I didn’t buy, but that’s because no one ever gives me stuff. If that changes (hint, hint, cosmetic companies), I’ll be sure to let y’all know that’s the case. I won’t ever flinch from giving a product a negative review if it deserves it, even if it was free. Even if it was free and they gave me cheesecake.
I link to the sources of photos I’ve used that I didn’t take, but that doesn’t mean I’m not infringing their copyright. I admit I’m kind of hoping the copyright holders will be pleased enough by the free publicity of their product to kind of ignore me using their pictures. If I’ve used your picture and you do mind, please contact me and I’ll be happy to remove the picture in question immediately.
Also, the views and opinions expressed on any external site to which I’ve linked are those of the respective sites’ author(s), and do not necessarily reflect mine. I also take no responsibility for any damage done do your computer by visiting those sites, though I only link sites I have personally visited and will never knowingly link to a compromised or malicious site without putting a clear warning on that link. (And I can’t imagine why I would have a reason to link to such a site on this blog at all, so it probably won’t happen.)
