I picked this up for the pseudo-vintage, pinup-style packaging. The tub of balm itself isn’t particularly interesting; it’s just a plain plastic tub with an unillustrated label. The box it comes in sure is cute, though.
This is an organic lip balm with a consistency that is actually pretty similar to butter, but less greasy. The texture it has on your lips is nice, light, and hardly noticeable. It moisturizes pretty well, and glides on easily. This stuff also tastes really, really good. That’s actually kind of a problem, because I keep licking it off.
Another problem with this lip balm is that it leaves a bit of a residue on your lips if they’re already pretty chapped. You don’t feel it, but it looks kind of gross. If they’re just dry and not cracked, or you exfoliate your lips with an old toothbrush or something first, it’s a non-issue.
My final complaint is that its staying power is unimpressive, even if you factor in the lip-licking. My lips feel dry again in less than an hour. Most of my other balms manage to last twice that long.
On the balance, though, I like it. Sure, it’s not a very effective lip balm, but it’s fun. If you don’t mind re-applying pretty frequently, give it a try.
