I’ve been wanting to try out e.l.f. for a while, to see if they’re as awesome for the price as everyone says. Finally, I found a K-Mart around here that carried it. (Though I almost didn’t find them. For some reason, K-Mart puts their cosmetics in the accessories section, not Health and Beauty. I hadn’t been in one since before Sears bought them, so I didn’t know this.)
First, I love the idea of this. I hate buying a compact of eyeshadow and only using a color or two out of it. (Note: e.l.f. makes lip colors and blush to go in the compact, as well. My K-Mart just happened to only have eyeshadow.)
Luckily, the execution is as great as the concept. The makeup fits nicely in the compact (which comes with an unexpectedly huge mirror), but it comes out pretty easily if you want to swap them out. The compact isn’t flimsy, either, though I was afraid it would be. It comes with an applicator with a sponge-tip at one end and brush at the other.
I was suitably impressed with the makeup itself. The eyeshadows are as highly pigmented as any other powder eyeshadow I’ve tried, and they go on smoothly. They’re very blendable, and I quite like the colors. (I tend towards earth tones, but e.l.f. has more than that to choose from.) The colors I chose are as follows, clockwise from the top: Moondust, Golden Glow, Mocha, and Sage.
The most fun part about this compact is choosing what goes in it. I’m going to get my hands on some of the lip color and blush to try them out, too.

Hey Leigh! Did you know that these also fit MAC pan eyeshadows as well as other popular brands? Love these 4-pan palettes and you just cannot beat the price
Nope, but that’s good to know! Thanks. I am so excited that I’ve found a place that sells e.l.f. around here. Buying online is just not as fun. I want instant gratification.
